THE TEST
The test can be un-nerving ordeal and a real trial of all of the skills you developed as you learnt. But with Robin School of Motoring you can be sure that we won't recommend you for the test until we are as sure that you will perform to the best of your ability. This will mean that you go to your test confident and positive of your ability.
What does the theory test consist of? The theory test is a 35 question multiple choice test that is conducted at your local theory test centre. It is composed of material that you can easily find in revision guides purchased from the DSA and it is highly recommended that this material is reviewed prior to sitting the test... It tests your knowledge of road markings, signs, and regulations. In addition to this is the hazard perception section of the test, this systematically tests your ability to spot a hazard and react as it develops. This is illustrated in a series of short videos that contain different hazards and you must react by clicking your mouse when you see a hazard and then again every time that it develops further. You must pass both sections to pass the theory test.
What does the practical test consist of? You will be tested on your ability to drive on your own. There is a short eye exam, which we unfortunately cant prepare you for as well as a quick test of your general knowledge of cars, this we can help you with! It is the examiners job to assess your adherence to the rules and regulations of the road, your general approach to driving, and your ability to perform the manoeuvres taught to you by your instructor. The test only lasts 40 minutes and it just flies by!
Coming soon- a comprehensive guide to the basics you will need to know before you take your test, with illustrations and essential guidance. A great way to revise!
